Mining gold ore, from plane −10 down — with an Iron pickaxe or better — gives 1 raw gold.
An old mine's chest holds 1–3 raw gold 25% of the chests.
An abandoned dwelling's chest holds 1 to 6 things, the dearer the rarer; each is raw gold once in 169, 1–2 at a time.
